Amazing full on weekend with celebrations involving magicians, burlesque dancers, steel bands, caricaturists, laser shows. There’s a real buzz about the place - from the moment the events were set up right through into the long summer evenings and beyond…
Rather than have a florist, some wedding couples decide to create table decorations themselves. To make it less stressful for them on the day we offer to store the flowers overnight. Moving them into position the next day can take quite a time - especially if it means transporting the flowers, favours, name places etc from the office above the Tythe Barn kitchen all the way up to the 2nd floor of the Watermill. Luckily we have a large team of young waiting staff who take care of this brilliantly – and keep fit at the same time!
With the warm sunny weather and rainy spells we have been having recently the herb garden has shot up. Now, not only is it aesthetically pleasing, edged with lavender, but there is sage, rosemary, thyme, fennel, parsley, oregano, chives, rocket and more in abundance for the chefs to harvest. At this time of year Pimms is one of the most popular reception drinks for the wedding guests. With this in mind Stephen has grown plenty of mint which can be freshly picked…….
Summer may not have arrived yet, but there are companies thinking ahead and already planning their Christmas parties! It seems strange talking about Christmas trees, decorations and Christmas crackers at this time of year – but when it brings in another December party booking (as it did this week) it seems like a good idea….
