The Herb Garden has really come into it’s own this month and is blooming. As well as being a living store cupboard for the chefs, the herb garden has proved to be a haven for a myriad of winged insects; bees, butterflies & moths. Honor noted at least 20 different species last Wednesday in just a short space of time.
How could I write a blog for a year and not mention our monthly management meetings? Perhaps I was wary about conveying the impression that they were just an excuse to get away from the office, to indulge in ground coffee, deluxe biscuits and convivial chat. Whereas, they are of course a forum to scrutinize enquiry figures, booking numbers and financial accounts in order to focus the business and move it forward. I admit though the photo of Andrew, Peter (Directors) and David (consultant) does seem to tell a different story …..
I was wondering how to mark the first anniversary of the Priston Mill blog this week. A friend suggested it should involve cake, which sounded like a brilliant idea, until I found out the girls in the office were on a diet. So retrospectively I decided that the flowers I received at PM Hospitality’s first management meeting at Coombe Lodge had to be in early recognition of the blog’s birthday - because the nearest I got to cake this week was looking at a photo of an amazing one made by Cake Matters that was brought in for a recent wedding at the Tythe Barn.
