‘Water water everywhere and ….. '…..and
then the dark cloud lifted, the
rain stopped and amazingly the sun came out just in time for the first wedding
of the Bank Holiday. This was
wonderful for the wedding party and
for everyone here who had worked hard all week towards making the day
It’s impossible to mention everything that has been going on
at Priston Mil this week in just one small paragraph. However, to cover just one area; in the marketing office we
have been focusing on putting together new off-peak offers to interest those
who are flexible on dates and days of the week for their wedding. There can be
some great savings while enjoying the high standards of service and cuisine
that are synonymous with Priston Mill. One way to keep updated on any of these offers and to see
fresh photos of the Tythe Barn or Watermill is by joining us on our new facebook
It’s great when friends or family memberscontribute to the
weddingsby adding personal touches e.g. giving speeches, making flower
arrangements, taking photos, designing name cards.
This week at Margaret & David Humphries‘s wedding I was
mightily impressed to discover that the wonderful white chocolate decorated
wedding cake, had not only been made by David, (who was new to baking cakes),
but that he had made it only the day before. Risky -however he carried it off well, because you couldn’t have asked for a
more freshly baked professional looking celebratory cake.I guess it was delicious too, with layers of dark chocolate, lemon and vanilla to choose from.
If either of my daughters decide to get married and if they
wanted me to make their cake and if they were happy for me to choose the style, I would
definitely be tempted to try making one like this. Lots of ifs!– However, I don’t think I would be
brave enough to leave making it to the day before!
Fact or fiction?New mid-week offer now at the Tythe Barn and Watermill. For a limited period, the Monday – Thursday
venue hire is available at just £500. Join us on our facebook page for more
details and to receive updates http://bit.ly/9hpDy5 (this, unbelievably is factual). Fact or Fiction?A much loved walking stick called ‘Hookie' ended up in lost
property for a few days awaiting collection. By the time 'Hookie' left us it had been
dressed stylishly, by Sandra and Judy, as befits any self-respecting walking stick residing at a wedding venue. 'Hookie' was
reunited with its grateful owners decorated with ribbon and flower (worryingly factual).
