Happy Birthday Blog! Eight years old today. The 8 years have rung many changes and it’s been fun recording a good number of them on a weekly basis. This blog was started with the the intention of providing updates and highlighting behind the scenes activities at Priston Mill. Yet in all this time I have omitted to mention much about the mainstay of the enterprise, Mr Hopwood. :-) This blog can’t come to an end without emphasising how invaluable his attention to detail and his commitment in terms of hours and hands on approach is (and has been for over 23 years), to maintaining standards week in and week out. So it's time to move on and in keeping with current affairs we now have our very own exit - CHexit. A new blog is now in the offing which will be aimed at providing tips & more useful information for wedding couples, rather than anecdotal and personal behind the scenes snippets. So its “goodbye” to CH @ Priston Mill and “hello and welcome” to the new Priston Mill Blog! CH
Wimbledon has started and supposedly Summer too. Offering chilled refreshing reception drinks, and perhaps especially Pimms, sets the scene and mood for a summer wedding, even if the sun decides not to put in an appearance! As well as Pimms, sparkling wine and Champagne other popular choices for Summer reception drinks are Berry Bellini, Passion Fruit Fizz, Gin & Elderflower Fizz, Vodka Iced Tea and pink lemonade. It adds rather a lovely touch to offer more than just one reception drink per person as this ensures the smartly attired waiting team circulate topping up guests glasses as they mingle and socialise before the wedding breakfast.
